Let’s Try This Again…

Hi everyone!

First let me apologize for being gone since December 22nd.  It was NOT my intention, nor was it my fault.  The hosting company (Hostgator) decided that I violated their Terms of Service by using too many resources like bandwidth and disk space.  I made a change to the site to fix the problem but they needed to review the change and then make my site available again.  Well, after I made the change, I did what I was supposed to do, and sent an e-mail to their ADMINS telling them what change I made and requested that they make my site available again.  I did not hear back from them (and still haven’t) and the site stayed broken.  I contacted their tech support so many times, I lost count.  Each time they told me there was nothing they could do and I would have to wait for the ADMINS to respond.  I was told every time I contacted them that it would be sent to a Supervisor and escalated.  Nothing every happened, nobody ever contacted me back.

SO, I needed to find a NEW hosting provider, which I did (Hostinger).  There are a lot of hosting providers out there, but I needed one that 1. I could afford and 2. allowed adult gay content.  That lowers the number significantly.  After doing my research, I found this one.  So far, so good.  Although I had to try and scrape up almost $200.00 for the cost.  The old hosting provider charged me almost $18.00/month for service.  This new one wanted me to pay for the whole year at once – with no payment plans.  This site is important to me as an outlet for stuff, not just pretty pictures of guys.  AND I know how important the site is for some of you too, because you have told me so via e-mail!  Thank you so much for the support while the site has been down.  I have no idea how many people thought that I had changed the site to require a username and password and just left, but I know for a fact that some of you are still out there and didn’t give up on me and I appreciate it VERY  much!

Now for the bad news…  Since the old hosting provider would not back up my site because it was “TOO LARGE”, I have to start from scratch… over 12 years of blog, poof – up in smoke…  This is REALLY hard for me to come to terms with, but I am glad that I was smart enough to literally save EVERY picture I have ever posted to the old site!  Nearly 200,000 pictures!  I still have tens of thousands of pictures that I have not yet posted so don’t worry, I am not going to just go back and re-post all the old pictures.  I get more and more pictures each day, so I don’t think I will run out of pictures to post for you guys!

As sad and as angry as I am to have lost all those years of hard work, I am still a little excited to be starting over.  I will still be posting all your favorites – Self Portrait Saturday’s, Sunday Funnies and the Who Would You Do? polls.  But I would also like to hear from you guys about the style of the site and what you would like to see in the future.  I can’t promise that I will use every suggestion, because this is still is my site and I have to like what I post.  But please drop me an e-mail if you have an idea of something you think everyone would like to see.  It is going to take me a while to get everything flowing smoothly again so please be patient, but also tell me if something is not working right.  It is my goal to make the site load on all browsers and mobile devices, but the only way I will know if something is not working is if you tell me.

AND because I DID save all the photos from the old site, I am still offering a 64GB thumb drive loaded with all of the old photos for those who wish to donate $100.00USD or more.  If you are interested, please feel free to e-mail me at: [email protected].

Again, THANK YOU for all of you who have stuck with me and are still here!  Picture posts should resume this week!

  1. Jason, so glad that you are okay, so sorry to hear you lost years of work. That happened to me last December, it was a hard drive of a nonprofit that I volunteer with. In my case I had paper copy backups of data, but still had to re-create forms and spreadsheets and the like.

I use Hostinger for 3 of my personal/semi-shared websites, and while I don’t get even a fraction of the traffic that you do, overall it’s been a good deal. However, when I moved the nonprofit website over there because Dreamhost was changing its email policies (forwarding, discussion, etc.), it was a disaster. Not only had Hostinger lied to me about email, it took almost 2 weeks for them to finally say, too bad, deal with it. It was not uncommon to wait more than an hour for a human to respond in their “usually under 20 minutes” chat. I moved the website back to Dreamhost while I search for another one. However, email fiasco aside, I’ve been very happy with Hostinger. I hope you are, too.

Request: years ago you did an entry, “ankle wads”, pants and underwear pulled down to knees or lower. When possible, I’d like to see another one.

I wish I could afford to donate, but being disabled, low-income, I’m grateful to be able to afford internet, and what little I can do. I am grateful, too, that you’re back, and I hope you have much smoother sailing going forward.

    • Thanks for your comment Paul! I hope I don’t have the same problems with Hostinger as I had with Hostgator.

As for an “Ankle Wads” post! We are long over due for one of those! I will see what I can do!

  2. Hey Jason, it’s good to know that you’re back. I can’t donate anything at this time but will do my best to spread the word about boyohboi. Your blog is the greatest! Keep up the good work and take care of yourself.
    With love, Damian

    • Thank you for your comment Damian!

No worries about not being able to donate! I love word of mouth advertising too! Being gone for so long, I am sure I lost a lot of people, so every little bit helps!

  3. Greetings from the UK
So glad you are back. I have missed my regular trip to the site. In fact I was working through your posts from the very beginning and had reached July 2014! Guess I won’t be doing that again – LOL. I will have lost your personal messages since then, so won’t know what trials and celebrations you continued to go through until 2021.

My favourite posts have been what I believe is referred to as G-rated, young men clothed or in a state of partial undress, rather than those with everything on show or in action! (It takes all sorts as no doubt you know from your other regular visitors!)

    • Hi Phil!

Thanks for your comments! Sorry about losing the posts! I like the G-rated photos too… sometimes! Lol.

Hope you continue to enjoy my site for years to come!

  4. Hi, I follow you for years, I was very worried about what could be happening. As this is not the first time this has happened, I was waiting for you to return. And what is my surprise today, YOU ARE BACK. I was very happy with that, I love everything you post so much.
I’m from Brazil, I’m 53 years old and I’m your fan. A thousand kisses and a strong hug.

  5. Jason,
I’m so very glad the site is back up and running again … I hadn’t been here for quite awhile and noticed how short the archive was, but this treasure trove of homobeauty would not be put down so easily, because the archivist is dedicated and has a wonderful eye.
    Be Well,

    • Hi Mahtinp, Thanks for your comments! Yeah, I was pretty down after loosing all my blog posts. The pictures I had posted I luckily have saved over the years so that is one smart thing I did.

I really appreciate you taking the time to leave a comment!
