Self Portrait Saturday

Hey everyone!

The weekend is here! And, in the United States at least, it is a long weekend! Does anyone have any big plans? I don’t have ANYTHING planned, and that is OK with me.

Here are this week’s Self Portraits… I gave you a “few” extra because of the holiday! 😉

  1. Who cares about a long weekend, coming from a veteran, and from a family of many veterans…. The plans are to remember our fellow veterans who didn’t make it home… So to hell with your long weekend. Just longer we remember being sad…

    • Sorry if I struck a nerve Matt. I have nothing but respect for all our service members and veterans. I do, however, think you have your holidays mixed up. The holiday that celebrates veterans is Memorial Day, which is in the spring. This weekend is Labor Day, which happens in the fall. Labor Day pays tribute to the contributions and achievements of American workers and is traditionally observed on the first Monday in September. It was created by the labor movement in the late 19th century and became a federal holiday in 1894. Labor Day weekend also symbolizes the end of summer for many Americans, and is celebrated with parties, street parades and athletic events.

I honestly think we should ALWAYS honor veterans and meant no disrespect to them.

      Thanks for your comment!
