Sorry

Hi guys. I am so sorry for the lack of posts, updates and responses to comments or e-mails. I am currently dealing with some excruciating pain, numbness, loss of balance, headaches due to some compressed vertebrae in my neck – an issue that has been getting progressively worse. I had an appointment with a neurosurgeon last week and, lets just say he and I did not agree on things. He seems to think the pain and numbness is not THAT bad, while I beg to differ. It is hard to pick things up with my fingers and I am constantly dropping things. Not to mention the loss of balance which has me walking like someone who had way too many drinks. The headaches and pain in my neck have me going crazy and getting somewhat depressed because nothing seems to be helping with the pain. I am trying to find a new neurosurgeon for a second opinion, but if any of you have tried to see a medical specialist lately, you know that it is a daunting process and nothing moves quickly.

Because of the numbness in my fingers, it is hard to type/post anything, as I keep making mistakes because my fingers don’t seem to want to cooperate. I REALLY hope to post more soon. Please bear with me as I try to navigate things.

Thanks for your understanding!!!

Jason

  1. Dear Jason,
For heaven’s sake please try your hardest to beg, borrow, or steal a neurosurgeon as soon as you possibly can. Not only is such pain not liveable with (obviously), there could be long-lasting damage. I don’t understand the American system, but there must be some way to get someone to pay attention. I think you have the right to call this an emergency, and that should (or ought to) make a difference.
    Get well soon!

  2. Kick that ass to the corner and demand another Doctor. The dismissive asses out there is one reason people put off being seen for things. That and the insane quagmire that is our healthcare system.

Due try and take care of yourself. I know it is hard.

  3. Jason,

Sorry to hear you are in so much pain. From my experience, when that happens to me, I just try to get through each day. Things do get better and hope you find some relief soon.

You have a great website with the Who would you do, being my favorite.
