Sunday Funnies

Well, I thought things could not get more interesting in my life… but I was WRONG!

:Late last night, I got out of bed to make my way to the bathroom and WHAM! I lost my balance and collapsed on the hard fake wood floor. I landed on my left knee HARD! Jason heard it in the other room. He helped me up and back into bed because I could not put ANY weight on it. Upon waking in the morning, I managed to get dressed and brush my teeth but as I was doing that I got this EXCRUCIATING pain in my left knee and literally could not move. Jason got me into my desk chair which has wheels on it and wheeled me over to the elevator, down three floors, through the apartment lobby and out the front door, almost dumping me out when we hit the brick walkway. We then went to the emergency room where I spent half of the day. Three X-rays later, the doctor told me that nothing was broken BUT there was extreme bruising and swelling under the kneecap. They wrapped it in an ace bandage, tried to get me to walk with crutches – well, because my compressed spinal cord makes me lose my balance a lot, the crutches were a BIG no – I almost fell again trying to learn how to use them. So, the gave me a WALKER, charged me a $150.00 copay, and sent me on my way…

After dropping me off at the emergency room, Jason had to go to the auto mechanic for an appointment he had. Well, they ended up having to replace something called a “coolant reservoir and hose” because it had a massive leak. Well, luckily (I guess), Jason had just gotten paid so he had the $908.00 to have it fixed, which TOTALLY drained his bank account – so now he has no money to pay his other bills. Not to mention that rent is due on Tuesday. Fun times!!! 🤬🤬🤬🤕🤕🤕🥺🥺🥺

Did you ever just want to not be here anymore? I am not suicidal, but if a giant asteroid came falling from the sky and slammed into my head, I don’t know that I would be that upset about it. lol But seriously, do you ever feel like life is throwing just a LITTLE too much crap your direction? If you can relate, PLEASE tell me how you get through those times?

Anyway, I have to say that I am SO happy and lucky to have Jason (and Bonnie, of course) in my life and I am hereby publicly telling him how much he means to me and that I truly appreciate all his patience, love and support through all of this!!! He and Bonnie are my FAMILY and I LOVE them both!!! ❤️❤️❤️

Sorry there are not as many Sunday Funnies this week. I have not been online at all so I have not found any funnies lately and the supply I have is dwindling.

Here is hoping that YOUR weekend is slightly more fun than mine! lol!

Sunday Funnies

Happy Sunday!

Because it is so hard for me to type – I am going to give you a brief summary about where things stand with my cervical myelopathy:

I had my third opinion with top neurosurgeon this last Wednesday. It went well, I really like the doctor and his team. He explained the surgery he proposed (which was also proposed by neurosurgeon #2). It is major and makes me nauseous thinking about it, but basically they are going to cut open the back of my neck, remove portions of bone to allow room for my spinal cord to release some pressure which is what is causing my pain and numbness. They then will be attaching or “fusing” the vertebra in my neck (the 2nd vertebrae at the top of my neck all the way down to the 7th vertebrae) using some titanium rods and screws. Sounds fun, right!???! The 3rd neurosurgeon AND the 2nd neurosurgeon will BOTH be operating on me. My insurance company is going to LOVE getting that bill! I can’t even imagine how much it will be! I will be in the hospital for around 3 nights. I have scheduled the surgery for September 18th. The recovery is going to be a long one. I will not be able to lift anything heavier than 5 pounds for a week or so and then no more than 15 pounds for around 3 weeks. And, from what the doctors have told me, it is going to be a painful recovery – they will be giving me some opioid based pain med for about 3 weeks. Then I will probably need extensive physical therapy for about 12 months.

Welļ, that is it. Simple, isn’t it!

Anyway, that is it!

Now lets get to the funnies!!!
