I only wish one could do more about these headaches. They sound hellish.
If nothing else works, you could inquire about morphine sulfate tablets. For occasional short-term use they are safe, and very effective. Or perhaps codeine: strong doses are used to treat migraines. Whatever stops the pain.
OH BOY! The THINGS I would do for morphine!!! lol! Actually, I get an “allowance” of 30 Norco (hydrocodone/acetaminophen). But due to the, in my opinion, overreaction to the “opioid crisis” here in America, doctors are REALLY reluctant to prescribe anything with codeine. In fact, to give you an idea of how ridiculously hard it is to get them, I had to go to my primary care doctor and request them. She said no. I went to one of my specialists that I have a good – long – history with and explained everything – he knows I am not going to sell them or abuse them. He agreed, but because of how wacked out the health insurance industry is here in the good ol’ US of A, he could not actually WRITE the prescription. The specialist had to write a letter to my primary care doctor telling her that I would not sell or abuse them. AND THEN I had to agree, IN WRITING, that I would not sell or abuse them. This is no exaggeration! ALL this took over 2 months to do before I could get a monthly prescription of 30 pills. Also, keep in mind that if you take AS DIRECTED, when you have pain, you are to take 1 every four to six hours AS NEEDED. Needless to say, I went through the 30 pills in like a week. I have a much-anticipated appointment with a neurologist, finally, on Monday where I hope a better solution will be found.
Anyone who says the U.S. healthcare system is great, is either lying to you or they never have to use it because they are healthy! lol.
UGH!

By Dorothy Parker
Razors pain you;
Rivers are damp;
Acids stain you;
And drugs cause cramp.
Guns aren’t lawful;
Nooses give;
Gas smells awful;
You might as well live.
Well, if I HAVE to, I guess I will… for now.
Agree!
I’m sorry that you’ve not been feeling well and that I can’t help with morphine. I do understand the problems with getting some of the drugs we need these days. I have to get testosterone and the guidelines I have to follow are insane. Anyway, welcome back and, as always, thanks for the great posts.
Thanks Craig! I probably shouldn’t use morphine anyway… I had it a couple of times and I can totally understand how it could be addicting!
Thanks for the great comment!

Thanks for your great effort this week.
Thanks Andrew! That means a lot!
Cheers,
Jason
The selfies are great every week but these weenies are the best!
From my own and about 20 of my patients experience opioids do not help with headaches, they even can make them worse. Stronger ones might sedate and get u high so u might not care but they won’t cure the pain. 6 months ago i have stopped abusing them after like 12 years.
Thanks for your comments! Many years ago I stopped taking opioids (Norco) after taking them for many years as well. I went “cold turkey” when I moved from California to Wisconsin, because it was REALLY difficult to get them prescribed there due to how many people who were addicted. I’m glad to hear that you were able to stop them. I think because I had been taking them for so long I needed more than they are willing to prescribe. Which is actually ok. Like you said, they don’t really take away the pain, they just make you care less about the pain.
Thanks again for your comment!!
