Who Would You Do? Version 102

Hey guys! What a week! I hope yours is going better than mine!

There were repairs that NEEDED to be done on our car, so we found a place that did free inspections, because we knew about a couple of the items that needed to get taken care of, but wanted a full car check over. Well, the good news – it wasn’t as bad – or as expensive (or so we thought) as we thought it was going to take to get most of the items fixed. But any repairs were going to need to wait until Jason got paid. But the guy behind the counter at the repair shop was cute and REALLY nice. He told us what needed to get done and what could wait until we had more money. We told him all if it would have to wait until at least payday – but he told us about a buy now – pay later option. I KNEW it was a bad thing to do, BUT we NEEDED to get some of the repairs done as soon as possible. He told us how much the repairs would cost and threw in some discounts and, like I said, it was kind of WAY less than we expected it would be because we had put off soooo much for soooo long. AND he said it would only take a couple hours to fix all that we were willing to do AND he could do it NOW. SO, against our better judgement – we opted to do the pay later option only to find out – after the work had begun – that, with interest, it was actually going to cost over twice as much! (neither of us have stellar credit scores so we get screwed when borrowing money). Well, the repairs NEEDED to get done so we just sucked it up and plan on trying to pay back earlier so we pay less interest. The repairs were done on time as he said they would be. THEN…

The next day we took Bonnie to the dog park and then Jason went to run an errand. While on his way, driving down the street, the car stopped – not slowed down and THEN stopped… it stopped dead in it’s tracks and all the warning lights and bells were going off. He was stuck in the middle of the street and could not move. He called roadside assistance that comes with our car insurance and had the car towed back to our apartment complex. It was too late in the day to contact the repair shop so we had to wait until the next day. The repair shop manager was, once again, very helpful AND VERY nice about it and apologized. He had a different tow truck come and pick up the car to take to the shop and then they looked at what happened. Apparently, when the brakes were replaced – someone did not “properly torque” a critical bolt. The one on the front right hand side broke loose and jammed into the rim wrecking the rim in the process. To make a LONG story longer… The repair shop repaired the car again – hopefully the right way this time – and delivered the car back to us THE SAME DAY! Which we were expecting it to be a much longer repair job. The manager apologized and gave us a few oil change coupons and is going to replace the rim that was damaged. It could have been MUCH worse, I know… I am glad that Jason was not hurt and no other damage was done.

I don’t think that we were being “taken for a ride” by the repair shop and that it was an honest mistake and they did do everything they could do to get it fixed and fast. But it would have been nice to have it done right the first time. Now, we just need to make big monthly payments for the rest of our life (not really). It isn’t going to be easy but we have overcome big obstacles before.

Thanks for reading! I just needed to vent.

NOW, on with the polls!

I do not have an unaltered photo for the first poll – sorry. I am going to choose “Locker Room Boy 4”.

So, Who Would YOU Do?

In the second poll, I am going with “Porn Boy 3”.

Hey All!

I hope you guys are enjoying your weekend! Mine is going to be pretty low-key I think. Maybe a trip or two to the dog park if the weather cooperates.
